Here we are, at the start of what I hope will be a fantastic and life-changing adventure for me, my sister and my mom. We are going to be travelling around Scotland, meeting family from both our dad's and mom's sides (Glachans and McNeils) and finding out about our roots in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I think, and I am quite certain that it will be so, that Scotland will produce some sort of life altering, mentality changing, attitude boosting revelations that will benefit me for the best. I need new experiences, new memories, and something I can always look back on and perhaps look forward to again. I think this trip will bring great things for everyone involved! I, like my mom, have always felt a special connection to Scotland because of my heritage and to finally go there will make that connection all the more real.
To whomever this travel diary reaches, I hope I don't bore you to tears. This is more of a personal creation than anything to remember every little detail of our trip so I don't forget a single thing we do. Anyone who knows me knows that I am actually the worst for memory... And to try and remember Scottish and Gaelic names of places and things...? I definitely need to write them down. I want to try as much as I can to document things while I'm over in Scotland so when I come home, I can share my travels with my lovely family and friends without forgetting anything important!
If you are going to stick with my blog, thank you for reading! I hope that what I experience and learn can somehow be translated to you in a small way. Maybe you can share with me in what I am sure will be many inspirations.
Countdown: Three days!
